What is ABA?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a type of therapy that focuses on improving specific behaviors, such as social skills, communication, reading, and academics as well as adaptive learning skills, such as fine motor dexterity, hygiene, grooming, domestic capabilities, punctuality, and job competence. ABA therapy applies our understanding of how behavior works to real situations. The goal is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning.

Intervention Services

We use Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI), which is an approach to autism intervention that is based on decades of research on how children learn. NDBI highlights your child’s strengths and prioritizes your child’s individual preferences to teach skills in the natural context of play, daily routines, and social interactions. NDBI has been shown to lead to increases in communication, social skills, engagement, and play, and decreases in dangerous behaviors.

Parent Coaching

As a parent, you are crucial to your child’s therapeutic journey! We believe in empowering parents to feel confident in understanding their child’s skills, helping their child develop new skills, and advocating for their child’s needs. At ANNA, we use an evidence-based program called Project ImPACT (Improving Parents As Communication Teachers) to teach you strategies to support your child at home. This program, which includes hands-on practice with feedback from our clinical experts.
